The reference 311.32.42.30.04.003 represents Omega's tribute to one of the most dramatic moments in space exploration history, commemorating the 45th anniversary of the perilous yet successful 1970 Apollo 13 mission where the crew aboard Apollo 13 used their Speedmaster watches as critical timing instruments during their emergency return to Earth, an action for which Omega received NASA's prestigious Silver Snoopy Award recognizing outstanding achievements related to human flight safety and mission success. Limited to only 1,970 pieces representing the year of the mission, this reference combines historical significance with playful design elements celebrating the collaboration between NASA and Charles Schulz's beloved Peanuts character Snoopy who has long been used by astronauts to acknowledge important contributions to spaceflight by the earthbound network of ground crew and contractors, appealing to collectors who value both space exploration heritage and pop culture iconography in highly limited production form.

The 42mm case crafted in stainless steel features polished and brushed surfaces, fixed black ceramic bezel with polished finish and Super-LumiNova tachymeter scale allowing legibility in darkness, sapphire crystal, and solid screw-down caseback with applied crafted 925 sterling silver Snoopy medallion depicted in space suit against dark blue enamel background with silver stars, outer ring engraved with "Silver Snoopy Award," "Eyes On The Stars," "45th Anniversary," individual edition number out of 1,970, and "Apollo XIII." The white dial displays Super-LumiNova baton hour markers, minute and one-fifth seconds perimeter scale, luminous baton hands, center sweep chronograph hand with luminous arrow tip, Super-LumiNova Snoopy character lying prone across small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock with thought bubble declaring "Failure Is Not An Option" referencing the famous line from the 1995 Ron Howard film Apollo 13, 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock, 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, phrase "What could you do in 14 seconds?" with 14 small squares representing Snoopy comic strip panels.
